چکیده

Background Cardiac sarcoidosis is an increasingly common indication for a heart transplant, but there paucity of knowledge with regard to long-term outcomes following transplant. Methods We utilized the Organ Procurement and Transplantation Network database retrospectively analyze adult patients undergoing first-time, single-organ transplant between January 1999 March 2020. Results Of 41,447 that underwent during study period, 289 (0.7%) were transplanted primary diagnosis restrictive cardiomyopathy due cardiac (RCM-Sarcoidosis). RCM-Sarcoidosis was associated 33% reduced risk mortality over 10 years compared non-RCM indications in multivariable Cox proportional hazards model (p = .03). Ten-year survival functions improved among this reference group (73.4% [64.2%–80.6%] vs. 59.5% [58.8%–60.1%], p .002). Among after who had at least follow-up (n 19,489), median 11.9 [8.3–14.6] while 9.9 [4.0–13.1] years. not increased secondary such as graft failure, rejection, or infection. The incidence retransplant comparable (1.38% 1.50%, .93). Conclusions These data suggest are favorable other indications.

Survival after heart transplantation for non-metastatic primary cardiac sarcoma

BACKGROUND Heart transplantation is an uncommon treatment for unresectable and non-metastatic primary cardiac sarcomas, and the role of it is unclear. This study aims to offer a survival analysis of it. METHODS This study consists of 6 patients from our institution and 40 patients identified in a literature search who underwent heart transplantation for non-metastatic primary cardiac sarcomas...

Longterm survival after pancreaticoduodenectomy for periampullary adenocarcinomas.

OBJECTIVES The aim of this study was to identify predictors for longterm survival following pancreaticoduodenectomy (PD) for pancreatic and other periampullary adenocarcinomas. METHODS Clinicopathological factors were compared between short-term (<5 years) and longterm (≥ 5 years) survival groups. Rates of actual 5-year and actuarial 10-year survival were determined. RESULTS There were 109 ...

Heart rate after cardiac transplantation.

Two patients who have undergone heart transplantation 7 and 15 months previously were studied to determine basal heart rate, the effects of exercise, and acute changes in venous return and blood pressure as well as of vagal stimulation. In one case the effects of body temperature, isoprenaline (isoproterenol), beta blockade, and atropinization on heart rate were studied. Mean resting heart rate...

Donor Troponin and Survival After Cardiac Transplantation

Heart transplantation is one of the greatest achievements in modern medicine. Patients with advanced heart failure in whom survival is measured in weeks and months are offered the potential for survival of ≥10 years with excellent quality of life. Unfortunately, during the past 2 decades the number of heart transplants performed in the United States has remained static, between 2000 and 2400 an...
